Sleepycat × OptiPhoenix:Trust Reassurance Near Add to Cart Drove a 137.95% Conversion Rate Uplift

The Challenge

Sleepycat is a D2C sleep and wellness brand offering sleep products designed to improve sleep quality through comfort and ergonomic design. A mattress is a considered purchase, so shoppers look for reassurance before they commit. On the mobile Product Detail Page (PDP), key reassurance details such as Free Delivery & Returns, 100-Night Trial, Warranty, and No Cost EMI were not prominently displayed at the point where users decide to buy.

OptiPhoenix partnered with Sleepycat to test whether placing these trust signals next to the Add to Cart CTAs would reduce hesitation and improve conversion.

Finding the Missing Signal

A shopper deciding on a mattress weighs risk. Can they return it? Is there a trial or a warranty or a way to pay in parts?

Those answers existed, but they sat away from the buying action. So the shopper had to find them or go without them. The gap sat between a confident offer and a page that did not repeat it at the moment of purchase.

The Hypothesis

OptiPhoenix proposed surfacing trust reassurance messages near the Add to Cart CTA and inside the sticky Add to Cart bar. Users would then receive the confidence they needed at the moment of purchase. This was expected to improve the Add to Cart rate and the purchase conversion rate.

The Experiment

OptiPhoenix ran a controlled A/B test on Sleepycat’s mobile Product Detail Page. The test ran for 15 days.

SleepyCat product page A/B test comparing original and variation designs, featuring a Buy with Confidence reassurance section below the cross-sell module and alongside the sticky Add to Cart button, highlighting free delivery, 10-year warranty, and free returns.

Variant A (Control): The original PDP, with reassurance details not prominently displayed near the Add to Cart CTAs.

Variant B (Test): A “Buy with Confidence” trust reassurance section placed below the cross-sell module. The sticky Add to Cart bar also showed reassurance details beside the CTA. The sticky bar displayed two items at a time. Users could tap an arrow to see the next items, and the items rotated automatically after about 6 seconds, to give users time to read them.

Metrics measured: Conversion Rate, Revenue per Visitor (RPV), and Net Revenue.

The Result

Placing reassurance where the buying decision happens moved far more shoppers to purchase.

SleepyCat PDP Optimization – 136% Increase in Revenue Per Visitor

Conversion Rate rose from 0.26% to 0.62%, a 137.95% increase. Revenue per Visitor rose 136%, and Net Revenue rose 142%.

Impact

  • 137.95% increase in Conversion Rate (0.26% to 0.62%)
  • 136% increase in Revenue per Visitor
  • 142% increase in Net Revenue
  • Measured over a 15-day test on mobile

Lessons Learned

Repeat reassurance at the point of decision. Free returns, a trial, a warranty, and No Cost EMI were already part of the offer. Showing them beside Add to Cart put them in front of shoppers when it mattered.

Use the sticky bar. The sticky Add to Cart stays in view as shoppers scroll, so rotating reassurance there kept the signals present throughout the page.

Read large uplifts against the baseline. The conversion rate moved from 0.26% to 0.62%. The relative gain is large because the starting rate was low. A longer run would confirm how the lift holds over time.

What Matters

Sleepycat‘s shoppers were not missing reasons to trust the brand. The reasons were not in front of them when they chose to buy. By placing a “Buy with Confidence” section and rotating reassurance in the sticky bar, OptiPhoenix closed that gap. Conversion Rate rose from 0.26% to 0.62%, and Net Revenue rose 142%.
